A Word Of Warning

Many individuals who offer "virus removal" services, use a pre-packaged virus removal tool that does not adequately address all the issues caused by the virus, remove all other viral and malware threats, ensure that your machine has not been left with unintentional "backdoor" access after the virus was removed, and do not know how to safely and properly repair your operating system's registry.

These individuals may mean well, but they just don't have the experience to handle higher level infections and the knowledge to take adequate steps to prevent future infections.

Some less upstanding "virus removal" services are a particularly risky proposition. Many of these "fly-by-night" individuals either don't back up your data files (or keep a copy of them for themselves), install other malware and create "backdoor" access to your computer for their own future use, or replace your legitimate operating system with a bootleg copy.

Be sure you know who you are trusting when it comes to your computer. Protect yourself by asking questions about their repair methodology and getting references before trusting your computer (and all your sensitive data) to an individual who may not offer the level of service you want or who may not share your values. Please be careful out there.
